The Animal World of Russia
Russia is large and rich not only in its territories — mountains, seas, rivers and forests. The plant and animal worlds of our country are very rich too. We’ve got lots of different animals and birds, trees and flowers. You can find wolves and bears, foxes and hares, squirrels and hedgehogs in our forests. Large and powerful elks live there too. Reindeer live in the north of Russia, tigers in the Far East.
All Russian people know the names of these animals. You can meet them in Russian fairy tales too. Strong bears, clever hares, sly foxes are favourite heroes of tales and fables.
